Acting as lighting consultants, Lumiere Studio focused on visual comfort, vertical illuminance, contrast, ambient light, accent light, shadows and emotional light to blend the lighting into the structural design; after all, light is the 4th dimension of architecture. Playing on soft glows and tones that fill the center with a warm and soothing ambient light, the design made sure to enhance the environment in subtle ways, complementing the surrounding décor and even the natural light in order to create an ensemble that feels harmonious. Using discreet lighting for intimate spaces and generously lit setups for wider common areas, they brought out the spa’s unique blend of cutting-edge trendiness and timeless charm across every section.
Lumiere Studio recommended the grazing light instead of wallwashing for the façade in order to bring out the material nature and texture of the wall cladding, as grazing creates shadows that enhance the human eye’s perception of 3D. In the corridors, which were narrow with a high ceiling, they recommended an oval flood effect in order to showcase the whole volume. The smart selection of beam/light output reduced the quantity of luminaires while giving the impression of more brightness. In the pool area, wallwashers were used to emphasize the beauty of the curved ceiling and the walls. The luminaires were selected very carefully, taking in consideration high performance and excellent visual comfort to reduce glare. In the staircase, the luminaires were selected in a way to create a contrast of light and shadow, plunging visitors into an inspiring atmosphere.
Integrated into the architecture, the lighting follows every curve and corner, winding its way across the hammam and spa with seamless flexibility. The natural tones of the lights reflect the colors of the stones and tiles, evoking earth, water and sky in yellow, white and blue. This interplay ties together the whole mood of the center, bringing its exceptional character as a haven of tranquility and relaxation to life.

Summerland village is one of Lumiere Studio’s largest undertakings. The project includes 73 luxury apartments, including duplexes and penthouses, and the resort facilities residents can access such as a five-star Kempinski hotel, pools, an entertainment center, lounges, restaurants, bars and a marina. The hotel offers an indoor ballroom with a private sandy beach and pool island, an ideal location for weddings and special events. Business clients too have access to conference rooms and facilities. The resort village is located just five minutes from Downtown Beirut, and is bound to be a hub for tourists looking for entertainment and comfort. Residential blocs are divided into three sections – the Palms, the Oasis and the Dunes – each of which is lit respecting the architect’s original vision underscoring luxury, glamour and comfort. The Mediterranean resort theme is highlighted by a sprawling marina walkway that will remain lit with recessed fixtures at night. Selected lighting fittings for this grand-scale project consisted mainly of LED Engine, made in Italy. Due to its proximity to the coast, lighting fittings are aluminum corrosion resistant or made with stainless steel. The village beach resort includes a spa and private bungalows as well as a natural waterfall. Lumiere Studio, along with Hilights, is devising a lighting design for every aspect of the colossal project in close collaboration with architects and interior designers.

A modern Lebanese marvel conceived by Nabil Gholam, Azour Villa is a prime example of how Lumiere Studio’s lighting design can work to enhance a given architectural concept. Complimenting the architect’s emphasis on natural light, purity and open space, and staying true to the architect’s original vision, stairs and walls are lit with a linear LED and nothing is left exposed. Lighting for the walls, floors and ceiling are completely concealed and only utilized where necessary, complimenting the interior design of Lorenzo Bellini.

Lumiere Studio’s biggest project to date is also its most ambitious. With almost 80,000 square meters in size, the Aishti Foundation is an innovative retail concept that combines art and shopping into one mega-complex. Once complete, the foundation will consist of nearly 40,000 square meters in shops, 20,000 square meters in gallery space and another 20,000 square meters in landscape. Lumiere Studio will be providing lighting services to 87 shops by catering a “lighting menu” consisting of products from our showroom, while designing lighting for the interior landscape and the foundation’s colossal façade.

A five-star hotel in the diplomatic quarter of Riyadh for "Saudi Hotel and Resorts Company", the "Diplomatic Quarter Hotel" is a low-rise four-story building inspired by the country’s taupe desert landscape. The Dubai branch of Perkins + Will, a U.S.-based architecture firm, which conceived the 40,000 m2 project design were inspired by a variety of local influences, including the natural environment and Saudi culture. The lighting design adopted by Lumiere Studio, in collaboration with HILIGHTS, enhances the organic shapes of the building with soft lighting choices. The center of the hotel is designed as an oases-like sanctuary, while the exterior is made up of layered strata reflecting the geology of the country. The façade is already layered with internal spaces that filter in natural sunlight, so the lighting is appropriately subtle and hidden. Recessed lighting fixtures serve a double function of illuminating the terrace while following the natural shapes of the architecture. This project illustrates Lumiere Studio’s dedication to first understanding the architect’s vision before laying out a lighting design to complement it.

Elegant and minimal, conceived by Light Space Design and supplied by Viabizzuno Middle East, the Dubai Marina Penthouse encompasses the futuristic sophistication of the Gulf, while staying true to the principles of elegant design.
The lighting concept was formulated to subtly enhance the original architectural vision of the interior layout and furniture using Viabizzuno products, the Italian lighting manufacturer, considered among the best and most versatile in the lighting world. The use of fixtures is, on the whole, minimal to capitalize on natural light.
The pristine marble and crisp white walls unify the entire space, while the lighting scheme highlights sophistication inherent to the design.
Viabizzuno’s famous 094 system is widely used to integrate with the geometry of the spaces and surfaces. This system is wired with different lighting sources, providing opportunities to find new creative ways to design the space.
The staircase reminiscent of a logarithmic spiral, is fitted with the 094 system curvo to accentuate its geometry. An array of trimless 094 system 100and 094 system 140is neatly integrated to provide accent lighting.
All cove perimeters were completed using the 094 system, as well as the C3 LED aluminum profile for discrete and indirect lighting.
Raggio wall integrated fixture in the corridor, is used as an efficient guiding pathway light. Peled, a modular lighting system, is fitted to the ceiling above the marble washbasin to provide warm white accent lighting on its surface.
In general, the lighting concept is minimal and structurally integrated to respect the clean and modern elegant architecture.

The internationally acclaimed Japanese restaurant by Riad Kamel of Architectes Anonymes recently relocated to Beirut’s Central District and Lumiere Studio, in collaboration with Hilights, worked to enrich the tempered modernism of the interior design and emphasize its organic ambiance by employing "Mini Diro II" and "Mini Diro LED", both Deltalight products. The lighting concept took into account the original idea of the architect to subtly invoke a topographic piece of Japan using raw materials such as wood and stainless steel. A custom made suspension was designed to complement the mirror ceiling by projecting a cherry blossom tree, and black and adjustable downlights were also installed to light only the restaurant tables to fulfill its functional purpose. Indirect lighting around the ceiling also served to highlight layers of wood work, giving character to the space. The sushi bar, made from matt marble, is also lit economically with deeply recessed lighting profiles. Chefs can also prepare food with their individual backlit tables, not visible to patrons.

Lumiere Studio teamed up with designer Viken Seikeljian to create a modern health clinic with a sophisticated lighting touch. The project was already in progress when Lumiere Studio took it on and our design concept upgraded the original scheme to a new level. The design emphasizes effective use of light and varies lighting intensity only where it is required. The reception area, where patients wait their turn to see a healthcare provider, conjures a design that is both warm and relaxed. In the office, a square slot with indirect lighting provides base light, while hidden projectors provide accent lighting on specific areas, such as the working desk.

The Rive Gauche office tower designed by Ayman Sanioura and launched by the Care Group is set to be one of the tallest – with 30 levels on a 3000 m2 of land – in Beirut. The building is aiming for LEED certification and will be situated on the highway connecting General Security to the Adlieh area. Working in collaboration with Hilights, Lumiere Studio opted to use various tones of white LED lights – from warmer tones scaling up to cooler blues – to emphasize the height of the tower. Horizontal lines of light also evoke a pyramidal effect, making the tower appear even taller to the spectator. The building will serve as both an office space, and residential quarters.

A new casual dining experience conceived by local dining chain Casino Mhanna, Joz Diner is where Arabic tradition meets modern design. To reflect the young and fresh appeal of the interior design, the lighting concept evokes the simplicity of a modern diner paired with a touch of Arab, specifically Beiruti tradition. Raw materials such as pipes and metal are used in the dining area, giving the space a slightly industrial edge. Suspensions with a brass interior finish on the other hand, temper the atmosphere with warm and dim light while surface mounted downlights provide accent lighting on tables. Joz Diner formally opened in 2015 in Antelias and has an indoor seating capacity of 100 in addition to a new outdoor terrace.
